A passionate cyclist and lifelong fitness enthusiast, Bryan competes in road races and endurance cycling events, along with being a hobby surfer and yoga fan. He coaches physically demanding and intensely rewarding classes that focus on building strength, power, endurance, and mental toughness. His music mix — classic rock, indie rock, and hip-hop — adds motivation (and often a flash of humor) to each ride. Bryan is also a certified instructor in TRX suspension training, NASM personal trainer, and a professional USA Cycling Program coach. When he's not racing, Bryan can be found coaching local women's racing programs and fighting childhood cancer as the Lead Rider/Coach for the Pablove Across America cycling team.
All my life I have been active and moving. Soccer, biking, running, swimming, hiking. Age and life got in my way a couple of years ago, I was not in my best of shape and I need a kick in the ass. Cindy and Pedal did just that. There was something about spinning that clicked with me. I could not get enough. I went all the time. It started to get a hold of me. I lost weight (30 pounds) and got my lungs back and transformed my self into someone I wanted to be at age 44. I wanted to take the next step and set my goal to be an instructor. I was certified by Mad Dogg in Venice and started leading classes at pedal. I am passionate about Pedal and spinning and changing life styles to get into shape and stay there. I hope you will find in my class my enthusiasm for what I do and it will become infections and I can help change people to be what they would like to become. Plus I always wanted to be a DJ and I love music and I like to yell. So it works out! Come take a class and see what happens.
Ani is about as close as it gets to being a Pedal original. She started as a client, began working the front desk, and has now been teaching for several years. An avid fitness enthusiast and runner, Ani focuses on teaching high-energy classes and is known for her fantastic Tabata (pronounced Tah-Bah-Tuh) rides.
Dear Spinners: My name is Kimi Elguea and I was raised in La Canada, California. Spinning is the only exercise activity that has kept me as motivated and focused as playing softball. (I pitched for the Varsity Occidental College Softball team.) I was inspired to get my spinning certification out of respect to the awe-inspiring, really cool, and wonderfully welcoming Pedal Spin Studio instructors. It has been a great honor to join this strong and energetic team of trainers. My goal is to welcome each of you into this close-knit fitness community while simultaenously pushing you to reach your full fitness potential. I started teaching Fitness classes in 2012. It was seriously one of the best decisions of my life. I have met some of the most inspiring and courageous people. My journey to fitness came about by my own health struggles. Autoimmune Thyroid Disease with devastating fatigue had me at a very low point, & the combo of nutrition and fitness literally changed my life for the better! Changing my diet & discovering Spin were my gateways to a healthier life. When I discovered Spin, a form of exercise driven by music, it was exactly what I needed to get me started in what would eventually become a career in fitness. I toured in a metal band for many years and have been addicted to Music- especially Rock, my whole life! So the combo of driving music & intense cardio truly spoke to me. A dear friend encouraged me to get certified and bring Rock to the Bike! The rest is history! Music fuels my workouts & helps my students let it all go! Crush and conquer! In my Spin classes, I like to incorporate steep climbs for hill crushing- and pacing drills for building endurance, along with epic sprints to give you a complete workout. Annette Ricchiazzi is a certified group fitness instructor, spinning teacher, H2O Fitness instructor and avid outdoor cyclist. In addition to teaching at Pedal, she teaches group fitness at Breakthru Fitness, H2O Fitness at Gerrish Swim & Tennis Club, outdoor bootcamp, and provides private personal training. She also coaches a middle school cross-country and track team with over 110 runners (three of whom are her own kids!) Her other day-job is as an acting coach for young actors at LaLa Casting Studio in Los Feliz, and the Drama teacher and speech & debate coach at St. Bede School in La Canada.Through all her teaching, she stresses creating goals and actively setting out to accomplish them. She is constantly inspired by everyday athletes- young and not-so-young- reaching their goals and making their lives better through building strength, stamina, confidence and overall fitness. Her mantra is “It IS NOT easy. But you left “easy” at home when you decided to come to class!” Annette shares the Nike philosophy- “Just Do It”. I’m Melanie Pleasure and I discovered spinning in 2009. Until then, I didn’t get it. I would be disgusted when I walked into the studio after a spin class, I mean, the floor was wet, the mirrors were fogged up, the room was hot and steamy, everything was just covered with sweat and gross. LOL! I came to spinning in desperation to help me lose the last 20 pounds of weight I’d gained as I recovered from major surgery. After my first spinning experience, I thought my heart was going to explode! And I was shakey from head to toe. But a fire had started deep inside me, and I wanted more. I kept coming back, and within the month, I’d purchased spin shoes and it was on. I was certified to be an indoor cycling instructor on September 11, 2011. I’ve been teaching spinning classes since October of 2011. And I LOVE it! I LOVE spinning! My body works hard and as long as your form is tight, there’s no stress to your joints and ligaments. I also love music and find the fusion of a torching fat burning/body conditioning ride coupled with music that slams are truly a match made in heaven. I’m an Air Force brat that grew up outside of the United States for 14 years. My music tastes reflect that, world, classical, rap, rock . . . it’s all good! A little about me: I was born and raised in the Glendale/Burbank area. Fitness and nutrition have always been an important part of my life. I describe myself as a “distance runner with a Spin problem”. I’ve been an avid runner for over 25 years, completing 11 marathons, numerous half marathons and 10Ks. I love to hike in the local mountains, although my favorite day hike is to the summit of Mt. Whitney. During the Station Fire in 2009 I was forced to take my workout indoors. A friend brought me to Pedal and I haven’t left.Professional background: I have a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Health Education and worked in the medical management field until taking a leave of absence to raise my 5 children. I am certified in Indoor Cycling and Group Exercise through AFAA and recently completed a course in Midlife Fitness for Women.I enjoy teaching high intensity interval rides to an eclectic mix of music. My name is Natalie Bedford and I was raised in Glendale, California. I am a huge fitness devotee and I'm currently studying Anthropology. I also do lots of volunteer work at animal shelters with sea lions, cats and dogs. My dream is to be an awesome Veterinarian one day and to start my own animal clinic. But lets start from the beginning. Back when I was very young and overweight, nutrition and fitness did not seem important to me at all. Lorie Margolis is a fitness enthusiast that hails from the great state of Texas. Lorie fell in love with Spin after taking her first class at Pedal Spin Studio in 2009. Inspired by the stellar team of Instructors, she became certified to teach and began to pursue a career in health and wellness. Her classes are music focused with carefully timed profiles that are designed to match the beat, tempo and rhythm of your favorite songs. I was born and raised just a few minutes from Montrose, and being a fitness enthusiast, I was absolutely delighted when Pedal Spin opened its doors. I was inspired by the great energy of the teachers at Pedal and I enjoyed my classes so much that I decided to get certified to become an instructor myself. I believe a great workout is as much about the mind as it is the body. Spinning is not only an awesome physical workout, but a great way to clear your mind and relieve your body of stress. Shanon is a certified indoor cycling instructor and marathoner. She was originally attracted to spinning because it offers two of her favorites in one package, music and cardio. Her playlists consist of dance music with infectious beats and rhythms that make it impossible to resist the urge to bust a move on your bike. She believes that regular physical activity is integral to personal health, wellness, and overall happiness.
